I just grabbed this with some spare coin from Mighty Ape. Looking through it seems like a decent read for $50 and definitely will be useful for my current build.

It's not a bad book actually, but if like me you're an avid reader of all things AK and Mig it's not anything you won't of seen before but it's good to have it all in one place.

Had a quick preview of the book on MA is it really any good doesn't seem to show techniques just pictures of the finished model with AK paint /product suggestions???

It shows techniques but it's obviously a big pimp of Mig products too, like their redundant Oil Liner range. But some pretty pictures and good for ideas, for me at least. Not as in-depth as the AK FAQ series, and more about the painting and weathering than the building. I'm not unhappy, but I'm also not going to rush out and buy the others in this range.

As I said its not too far removed from the content of the Weathering magazines. I'm a sucker for brand toys so I bought it when it came out.

redundant, go on :)

I have some and really enjoy them, quick and easy to use. Yes you pay for the convenience but i'm happy to do that for a product that works as designed and makes modelling more satisfying.

Just updated the ultrasound cleaner for this 4 ltr model. What a difference it has made on the airbrush heaps more power, temperature adjustment and time a lot longer

Now to get the mojo and dust off some of the kits sitting half started (OK only just started)

Can bring up to cambridge if I go this year if any one wants to put stuff through

Hi Gary

PO BOX 3127, Napier mail center, Napier 4142, New Zealand

I went with the 4ltr as I decided the 1 and 2.5 ltr would be too small for what I wanted to do

Cheers Daneby. I've been thinking of getting one as I've not been happy with my airbrushes. Its probably nothing to do with their cleanliness and more to do with my poor technique, but hey, it can't hurt ;)
If you are just using it for airbrushing and maybe some of the wife's jewellery, what size would you recommend?

Either of the smaller ones should do
The 1ltr is not heated and 150x85x100
The 2.5 is $75 more and heated with a bigger tank of 150x135x150
The one I have has a drain so you dont have to tip the tank to empty it I am unsure about the 1ltr and 2.5ltr but the drain certainly makes it easy

How big is the airbrush as it should not sit on the tank bottom but in the basket. I found the shop was great to deal with and would have better advise than I have

I sound like a politician and not really answer the question

I just received my new Tamiya Ford GT today. It joins the Revell kit I got several weeks back. As you might expect, they are two very nice kits and it will come as no surprise that I will be modelling the Scott Dixon option on the Revell kit.

Very nice, didn't realise Ford were back with a GT at Le Mans, it's production class and not the LMP class right?

All part of a 50 year celebration celebration of Ford's four victories at Le Mans from 1966 to 1969 in the GT40. Ford decided it would enter four cars each year numbered 66, 67, 68 and 69 for four years beginning 2016 and concluding in 2019. Ford won the GTE Pro class in 2016, picked up a second placing in 2017, a third placing in 2018 and it remains to be seen where they place in the GTE Pro class this final year. Chip Ganassi was contracted to run the team.

To win in the LMP1 class takes major investment, something Ford didn't have a budget for..

Just had these 2 decals sets arrive direct from TwoBobs. For the strike eagle set, totally going to do the deadpool markings (just like everyone who buys this sheet probably will), in saying that there are heaps of cool nose art on this sheet so if anyone wants something different for their beagle, let me know and I can share them out (I won't use them all).
Other set will be for when I finally get my hands on the kittyhawk su34, this sheet also has markings for the su24 which I already have although I don't know if I will use them yet.

Managed to nab this bad boy yesterday from Hobby City, TBH I didn't know it had even been released yet, even online I have only seen 1-2 people with one so to say I was surprised to see one was an understatement. Was just over a hundy which I didn't think as too bad as the cheapest I could find online was about $70-75. The moulding has to be seen to be believed, the slide moulded tail boom and fine raised rivets over the entire fuselage are very well detailed. Will take some sprue shots if anyone is interested in seeing them.

Too hard to get good photos with the sprues in the bag so I'll take some when I get a chance to unbag it all. First impressions, WOW. Slide moulded 1 piece tail boom, stub wings, rocket pods, tail rotor blades, exhausts with good detail in them. Weapons look nice, cockpit detail is pretty good, fine raised rivets everywhere (just like the real thing). A sheet of PE for all the mesh sections and a sheet of precut canopy masks. Decals are by cartograf and look fantastic. If you have even a passing interest in the actual aircraft or the scale then this kit raises the bar for helo kits and would be a must buy.
