Thanks Terry, the second page with the Caunter scheme was what I was taking about with the camo scheme painting plans, thanks good to know.
They don't seem to have gone to the same extent for the late war German Factory camos for the Panther & King Tiger etc.

Just got this delivered this morning from Mighty Ape. Have had my eye on it a while and for $80 off on yesterdays daily deals, I had to do it.

Awesome! That's a massive saving. I built the old Matchbox kit about 25 years ago. A big bird even in 1/72. Looking forward to seeing your's come together.

That kit looks awesome.. The old brit jets make me feel like a kid again (I grew up around living close to of the airfields in England). The Vulcan especially gives me goosebumps as I sat at the end of the runway and saw them take off over me so many times!1

Maybe if the post war GB happens I will attempt something!

Another couple for the stash, this time only a week from the UK.

This one will be done as WHIF RNZAF in the euro1 skyhawk scheme and markings.

This one was because the 2 holer looked pretty cool and it's the sundowners so yeah, had to get this one too.

I'm back from my trip to Europe and Japan, and with goodies. I got these two fro Volks in Akihabara:

I want to build the Pfeil soon. It looks to be a very nice kit. Volks is a nice store, but it has limited aircraft/tanks etc. Mostly the focus is on gundam and dodgy anime models of suspiciously young looking women with huge breasts. Akihabara is amazing for hobby/Otaku stuff though. Some very nice second hand videogames stores. Japan overall was incredible (especially the tonkatsu and okonomiyaki in Osaka). Going back in a couple of years hopefully.

The real money got spent on trains though. This was the haul from Tokyo, Osaka and Munich:

We got a JR rail pass and spent our time in Japan riding the Shinkansen and visiting various places. Sometime during that I decided I had to build a Japanese layout, so I got some stuff for that. Japan is amazing for model rail as it is a huge hobby there. It's cheap and model train stores are everywhere (including in the big department stores). I literally accidentally walked into one at one point. I got the white box z21 thing as a part of a set in a store at the Hauptbahnhoff in Munich. This was one of the things that I aimed to buy on the trip: it is a train controller that allows for easy set up of wifi/app control of a layout.

Did the rounds of the auckland model shops yesterday, didn't buy any kits but did get some supplies from the Model room in papakura and the new modelair shop.

I did however get this from our esteemed leader courtesy of Kourier Kane...

I have some Twobobs Polish F16 decals coming and didn't want to use my academy f16I (as I want to build it as an IDF one) so G1 kindly offered me this kit.

I was also very tempted by the Trumpeter 1/32 Eurofighter Typhoon at Stokers for $125 but managed to resist.

HAHA Hadley is selling organs again... After seeing what they are worth I've decided unless I end up completely destitute I am never selling my one.
Had a couple more arrivals today, sent friday from BNA and arrived this morning, mind you it was only a couple of bucks more for the fast courier.

Always liked the look of this one and they had it discounted a fair bit so pulled the trigger.

This one, I wanted to get one when Mighty ape had them for $50 but missed out and they have gotten hard to track down. I noticed BNA had it so thought I'd better get one before they disappear again.

Kinetic do make a single seater as well. Haven't seen any here in NZ for a while though.

Cheers mate, always loved the Mirage 2000s, and wondered how good the kinetic ones were since their kits can be hit or miss. At least more hittier than Kitty Hawk.

I picked this up from The Model Room when I caught up with G2 last weekend. It's been on my wishlist for a while as part of my plan to build all the main platforms from Red Storm Rising.

Did I show you my work in progress on this when you came round?
It's worth paying Shapeways a visit and getting the replacement parts that are available to (depending on what you want to do with it) assuming i haven't got my resin printer first.

Yeah, along with the lights. Im going to look at lighting mine with LEDs and just drilling holes. May paint the interior black so no light gets out except through the holes.
