they will be from the molds for sure, but not a copy. Ace is based in South Korea not China, so there will be no knockoff's from them... don't ask me how I know! Coz I will have to kill you if I did tell.

Nice, I've got one of those in the stash too. One of the few 1/48 aircraft that survived the recent stash cull :shhh:

I'd still like to see a styrene Do217 night fighter in 1/48

Gee DML make some nice planes. I'd love to get one of the 110s at some point. This looks really good.

There's a 1/48 revell do217e on trade me at the moment, not sure what you would need to do to make it a night fighter version but im sure with some scratch building skills it wouldn't be a hard conversion to make?

Revell 1/48 Do217E

I'm holding out till I can either get my hands on an Eduard 1/48 bf110G-4 (expensive but really really good) or DML make a g-4 version of their 1/32 bf110. It would probably be more expensive than the eduard but would be much more impressive looking I think. Also waiting on the 1/32 DO335 for when it finally gets released.

A company called Small Model make a 1/48 Do 217 N-2 conversion to fit the Revell Do217E but I haven't seen one around for months. I think scratch building would far exceed my skills and patience to do that conversion

After various talk of Apaches on here, I had to get one. Apparently this has some accuracy problems, but the molding looks really nice from a brief inspection of the box contents. I'm tempted to have a go at building this in a weekend for a quick build.

Got back the other day and unfortunately straight back into it the next day. Anyway, managed to get some goodies.

The Trumpy KV 1 I've always wanted to build. Seems quite simple to put together and a good model to boot. Staying within budget, I scored some new paints I wanted to try out. Vellejo and Model master acrylics. Any opinions on the later?

I expected a bit more from the mag, but there is a stunning WZT SU recovery vehicle article - lots of very clean and accurate scratch building.

VJ is the hand paint! I dont use anything else when it comes to uniforms, stowage and equipment painting. Just mix in a little tamiya matting agent.;)
Modelmaster. Not that impressed a matt paint that dries glossy. :hairpull:
Looked at the mag myself not very impressed, but not as bad as Miltary modelling with a Spitfire on the front cover (come on!).:whome:
Actually Tamiya International has gone down hill to, not a fan of brett greens work, a MIG mag would go down much better!

Tamiya X21 flat base acrylic. Turns tamiya gloss paint to matt as well.

probably a 20p sized puddle of paint to a good dab on a sized one brush and mix it in if you want a matt finish, if you want a slight sheen to your finish which suits some clothes use the VJ as is out of the bottle.

Yeah. What gives wiith Military modeling? I'm afraid the only mags that I buy semi regularley are Model Military Int., and usualy AFV Modeler if I can find it.

Might try mixing some tamiya flat to the Model master stuff - hate to think that I've just thrown money down the toilet.

What attracted me to them was the colours themselves. Another "tan" (can't have enough shades for German yellow), a nice reddish "rust" and a gun metal. I'll try them out sometime on a practise piece - I'd like them to work out - save a wee bit of time mixing at least.

I personally love them, not sure how "accurate" the colours are but hey when did all the colours look the same anyway? It's good to have variations, maybe you got a duff bottle there Mark?

That enterprise nx01 looks pretty cool. Also LOVE the israeli camo on the ah64's they have, makes them look so much meaner than the boring olive drab ones...

Is that new ? I'm thinking of investing in a good mini-compressor, getting tired of firing up the full sized one everytime I want to do a few little things.

My wife calls me a curmudgeon. I haven't looked it up but I assume it means "fun loving and free spirited" or some such twaddle. I inform and perform over at www.militarymodels.co.nz and stick my oar in here as well. My passion is WWII 1/35 armour but I'm coming around to liking the odd 1/32 thing...
