Additional Class for 2018 Nationals.

We have been informed that there is an IPMS Trophy available for Vac forming as per the following:

There is a trophy sponsored by one of the IPMS Auckland members for best vac-form entry. This is the Geoff Prentice memorial trophy and is awarded to the best vac-form model entered by an IPMS member.

With that we will adding an additional Class - however can you please just advise me when you provide your entries if Vac-forming items form part/s of your model.

Just a side note and a reminder to send me your entries in advance, scanned/pdf. is fine. Even a photo of the form is fine as long as all the info is there.

Thanks

Steve

Hi all
I will be running the "stash" table for the weekend
Those wanting to sell some kits from their stash please make sure the box is clearly marked so we know whos is whos
For example, a sticker with your initials and the price on it
Please also provide, on a seperate piece of paper, your name, phone number, the full list of what kits you have, the scale and the price you put on them
This is so we now which kits have gone where, who gets what money, etc

Those who choose to put kits up for sale must agree with these rules:
-Kits must have initials and price on it
-Provide full list of the "stash" your selling
-The club takes 10% of the sale price
-I must have your stash within 1 hour of the doors opening
-"Your" takings for the day can either be taken at end of each day or just at the end of the event, NOT during opening hours
-Try your best not to sell anything the other vendors are selling
-Any variations to these rules are up to me

Any questions, just ask :-)

In the build:
2x Possum Bourne Subaru rally cars
2x Lynx AH-7's
KA-50 Hokum

Just trying to tee something up, as it looks like I now won't be able to attend due to other commitments, is there anyone from auckland who will be going down on the friday who might some room in their car for some donated kits for the kiddos to build? I've got to organise getting them from my uncles place but will need to liase giving them to someone to take down to Armistice.
Thanks in advance, either pm me or reply on here.

Just laminated the 'name-plates' for my couple of entries. Going to label & price my 'sales' this evening or more likely tomorrow. Actually feeling excited 'bout it all this year.

Unfortunately we are still in the middle of my wifes treatment and its just not going to be possible this year. Good luck to all those who enter the comp and I hope its great showing all round!! I look forward to seeing some photos!! So please take heaps and post em up!!

Usually OOB rules permit replacement decals. Will depend what rules have been decided by organising club. Thought the OOB rules were listed in Gary’s documents in the first post?

Decals aren't mentioned, (unless I'm blind) so just wanted clarification
As an example, if I've got some decals from oldmodeldecals and put them on my helicopters, can it still be OOB?

I really hate to admit it because it's Hadley but he's right there isn't anything specific in the rules but generally it's accepted that decals other than those included with the kit may be used.

Was always the IPMS(UK) position - nothing can be added or changed in the construction of the kit including load-out but adding bracing / radio aerials is OK , finishing in alternative decals is fine.

The origins of the OOB building class was purely to provide a class for those who didn't want to spend money on aftermarket to compete against modellers who added aftermarket resin, etc and the like to their kits as commercial aftermarket accessories gave the latter an unfair advantage in competition. In short, the class just stood as a no aftermarket accessory class. Aftermarket decals were allowed to avoid everyone turning up with the same kit in the same livery and decals didn't change the structure of the kit, just like paint doesn't. Stretched sprue aerials were permitted because sprue is in the kit box and a concession was allowed for masking tape to be used as seat belts, or if you were a follower of the Verlinden way, you could also use tiny rolled strips of putty, flattened, as your seat belts. The commonsense approach for OOB is no commercial aftermarket except for decals but building materials as mentioned are permissable.

Hi guys
Not long to go…..
If you are ready with your entries can you please email them to me at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. I want as many as possible by midnight Wednesday 7th as per my previous post.

I'm having to go away for work all week and won’t be back until Thursday night so it will give me something to do in the evenings.
Entries on Saturday morning is fine but I don’t want a huge amount of people turning up wanting to register at the last minute – the more I can do now pre-event the better.

On another note – we do have people who have volunteered to judge but if you would like to help out in this area please let me know. The more we have the quicker the Judging can be completed on Saturday afternoon and the sooner the bragging can take place!!!

Look forward to seeing everyone on Saturday – safe travels for you and your models!!!

Regards

Steve

I'm usually too shagged from the Friday and Saturday to want to drive back to Cambridge so I'll be organising the usual quite, old fogies curry night in TA, I know a couple of others who are staying in TA who normally come.
So if you want fun and entertainment go to the Good Union, if you want something closer to the grave come to Te Awamutu :)

Sadly (unless you are bank balance) I won't be able to make it up this year. The family we were going to visit, whose spare rooms have been filled, will instead descend on us the following weekends with birthdays galore in November.
Best of luck to the organizers and those competing.

What if we want to add more model entries,
Start a new list with all models added?
