Thanks for the info Craig, yup nothing has changed and we're still good to go for 2018, I'd already confirmed with a couple of the other committee guys that I've been talking to via email but thanks for being boots on the ground for us.
Will have to pull a couple of rabbits out of the hat for 2018.
Shameless bump, only 3.5 weeks to go folks, I'm looking forward to seeing all the good folks from KM and maybe some new faces.
It's going to be a bit bigger than last year, we've split the displays up with compo models up stairs and display models downstairs. So dust off those old works of art and shelf queens and bring them along, we've got a lot of real estate that needs to be filled
Well there are a lot of people that come from various parts of the country, it's an ideal opportunity to pimp out the respective clubs.
I can't remember if Manawatu were going to make an official appearance this year, I did get an email requesting a space but never heard back.
Tauranga model club are going to be there, I'm not sure who's running this yet but I've offered them a couple of tables.
Same goes for anyone who's a member of a local model club, feel free to shout out for a club table.
Next year being the Nationals I'll be pushing all the clubs that I know of to have their own little areas to help build the community.
We're working on getting as many as we can but as most are based in either Wellington or Auckland it's hard persuading them to come "all" the way to Cow country.......
Mighty Ape and Dave especially are the exception, he's giving up his own time to support us.
We also have Bay Hobbies confirmed
There are other vendors we're trying to get to come but it's always the same thing, too far, too little return etc etc.
Rick from Ricks models tried it but he only sold 1 kit over the weekend (that might of been because he looked grumpy all weekend lol)
Yes I can certainly put some tables aside for that. I had a bit of a tiff with one of the other chair people who wanted to use the lower rooms for presentations. I basically said we had been promised the room in preparation for having the big hall next year's NATs and that it was fully allocated.
So I just need to make sure we fill all the space we have.
We'll need people to man the stalls so if you want to sell your old kits/stash items (nothing new, I'm not going to be stepping on the vendors toes) feel free to bring them along, make sure you put clear prices on them.
A 10% donation will be "skimmed" from the top to pay for the tables and to make a donation to AiC to ensure our presence there next year.
Hello! Long time no build, or keeping up with here... Been in a bit of a low lately due to personal stuff going on, and I just haven't been on top of things. Anyways, I wasn't planning on coming, but a friend of mine has brought me a plane ticket to make my way up. I am only booked for Carry on, so I don't think I will be able to bring anything. I might see if I can bring up my T-34, or the mad max car, as I'm a male, and don't need a lot of clothing for two days.
Have been wanting to come for the past couple of years. But no go for this year either Have never displayed any of my builds, so would love to bring my 1/32 Phantom or Corsair to display... Will aim for next year's event.
Sweet been meaning to give you a txt or call to see if you were still coming up.
Gary i've had a small change in plans. I am only going to be up for the saturday now. What is the earliest i can unload my stuff? and do i need a pass or anything to get in Als the gate by the hall? Also if i enter my bayonet model what category would i put it in?
Just done mine... can I ask that folks P L E A S E PRE-REGISTER THEIR COMPETITION MODELS this year. It helps Steve no-end and makes things a 1000 times easier on Saturday morning. C'mon folks do the right thing, eh ?
