Potential new group build: RAF 100 was created by Grant
Hi all, as there has been some interest in this build idea I thought I would see if we can get it going. It would run for the rest of the year (or maybe even a little way into next year so people can tackle a more complicated subject). It's open to any Royal Air Force aircraft, so there are loads of subjects and kits to choose from. I'm happy to run this one. I think I will make a slight change though: there will be no vote for the best build, rather, every completed entrant will go into the draw to win a prize that I will donate. (I'll make sure it is something worth entering for). :P

So, are you keen? Let me know what you want to build. :)

Yeah count me in on this. Will it include part started?

Yeah, within limits (i.e. not completed to the point of putting decals on :D ). How far through is it?

I'm definitely keen. :cheer: I'm not sure what exact subject just yet, but it'll have propellers and probably be 1/32 scale.

I will at least put my hand up for it, have a few kits that apply (my harrier will be too far long, most construction is done bar the forward fuselage) so might be able to jump in the ring. Might even get close to finishing maybe.

In Soviet Russia, Iron Curtain GB builds you!

People look at me funny when I say I own "Fifty shades of Grey". FS36118, FS36270, FS36375.....

Hi all, I am getting a plan together......I have a Revell Typhoon MkIb in my stash, so out it comes...It will be done in 486 Squadron markings Techmod decals and a few other goodies.. I have another kit idea for this build, something from a squadron that is perhaps a little obscure, but more about that later...

Awesome, what is the history of this kit do you know? I haven't seen it before.

Hey there....this is an old Revell kit 1/32 from 1983 I got it on ebay last year...and I think it is a re-release of an even earlier model, possibly from the early 70s when they did Hurricanes in the green plastic.....this one is green too.....green plastic.

Jumped in to the stash and my options are pretty limited. I have 5 aircraft that fall into the RAF theme, but 3 of them (Hasegawa 1/72 Jaguar GR.1, Eduard 1/72 Liberator and Airfix 1/72 Typhoon) are well and truly started with all being a long way into the assembly process. So that leaves two options:

Might have to be a Tornado as not overly keen to try and tackle a full resin kit in the timeframe.

I've already got a load of aftermarket stashed in the kit box:
- Aires cockpit and wheel wells
- PP Aeroparts/Flightpath correction/update set
- DB Conversions resin wings
- Master Models pitot
- Armory wheels
- Various bits and pieces taken from the Revell kit

Want to build ZD740/DA "Dhahran Annie" as she appeared during Granby, before all her mssion markings were repainted as depicted in every kit.

Tornado looks like an excellent option.

I have lots of options. Hurricanes and Spitfires in 1/72, 1/32 and 1/24, Airfix Victor, GWH 1/144 Victor, Airfix Vulcan :S, Revell 1/32 Hunter, 1/32 P.40, 1/72 Hercules, Buccaneer, Lightning... etc.

Given how long it takes me to not complete a group build, I think we should just start now, and then when you make it official, move the threads to a GB sub-forum... just sayin'... ;)

Works for me, just send me some blurb and I'll create a new forum for the GB

I'm not opposed to that. We're already starting a bit late anyway for the Centenary. I'll knock up something official over the next couple of days.
