. . . . And I'd been considering simply your base kit . . . :P

Oh well, I'll have to extend my search for something less modern . . . .

:P D1 - If you really want to do the Bentley that's no problem as I think I may have found an even better subject over at's Rick's site (first visit  ).
Plus it's a biggish kit and I don't have a lot of bench space left - 4 GB's on the go soon
Not saying what just yet - one of you lot will probably jump in ahead of me :( .
So go for the Bentley ;)

Put my vote back in. All good to go, will still be using the F1 kit, which turns out to be a Ferrari

I'll be going into the stash of F1 kits, no idea which one. Leaning towards the RB6 or the MP4-27

Nice. I am looking at a F1 kit also. The only kit I have some detail bits for is the MP4-13 so that might be the kit that gets used.

But this might change as I keep thinking about other kits in the stash lol.

So I've narrowed-down my choice to one of these: I have them all in the stash, the Mustang would be by far-and-away the easiest build, the Corvette is really nice, a real challenge to build but I'd need to do some surgery to flip the front end and show the (superb) engine detail. The Camaro wouldn't be in the Hot Wheels colours, I have some Slixx decals for an even more outrageous scheme !!, it's very close to a NASCAR kit but just different enough.

So what do you folks think, any preferences ??

Beyond that, I'm still lost :S

Funny you should pick the 'Vette, matey. I just checked the price of the etch & carbon fibre decal sets over on HLJ...

...$70.00 not including postage  - No freakin' way am I spending seventy dollars on a kit that cost around $35.00 a couple of years ago.

I love those C5-R's. Not only a very cool looking race car, but I just love the sound they make. Vivid audio recollections of Lemans as cars drove past commentary box opposite the pits.... every petrol engined car in the field was meow, meow meow, and the diesels burble, burble, burble, and the Corvette.... THUNDER THUNDER THUNDER, yep there goes the Vette.

or better still when did the Vette pass the pits ?.... meow meow burble meow burble burble meow THUNDER meow burble meow

I reckon you should do the Shelby Mustang. It can be built into a nice model. Here are a few pix of one Paul Edwards built as a 1967 Le Mans entry.:

I think I remember that Vette at Le Mans in 2001, I think it was the same year that one of the Cadillacs caught fire and melted.

Great feedback folks, thank you. As I've no preference whatsoever, I'll keep a mostly open mind for now, but of the the three the C5-R is waving the hardest at me from the stash, and I found an excellent build/detail article on a French auto enthusiasts site. My only issue is the the overall yellow paint-job. If it were the yellow/white American GT Series scheme or the silver/blue/black Compuware colours that would be the decision made !!

Ahhh well, decisions, decisions...

Ian - can't really advise any of them  , all a bit "main stream" :P .

Well thanks to my long suffering wallet and Rick's Models, I know have some additional decisions to make :side:

1. Do I rebuild the glue-bombs (x2, Alfa and a Cooper) orrrrrrrrrrr
2. Tuck into one of the unstarted kits !

4 days to make a big D :silly:

I'll likely start my entry in the new year, after finishing my current project. I've moved away from doing the Tamiya Ferrari 312T3 I initially planned on doing, for something a bit quicker to make; a Senna DAP kart complete with Shapeways replacement parts designed and drawn by me. Should fly together  well that's my hope! I'm choosing something easy to make because I stuck my hand up for a the Tomcat GB as well, and aircraft models are pretty new to me, so I'm expecting it to take about a decade! :P

Illustrious? Aw Shucks, Thanks :P

Egg planes and similar Caricature styles have been permitted in other GB's, and hey, a model is a model, and it's all about having some fun making them. So I see no problems with having some fun in this Group Build either. :cheer: ;)
