This is a dictatorship I tell ya!

All good, when it comes to a poll, i'm sure the masses will speak...

I think after armistice you should take some time out for yourself and not worry too much about round here, I'm sure us mods can keep a handle on most things for a little while.

Votes sound fair but I'd be keen to see the scope widened so non afv/air builds could be included.

Something like kiwi legends could include race/rally drivers, pilots, soldiers, campaigns etc.
You could say things with a 4 in the name, then you have f4, mp4, f14, m4

KING!!! There's a King!?
I thought this was an anarcho-syndicalist commune!?
I'll go along with most of the GBs that seem to have gained traction here
WW1
D-Day + (a possible return to AFV)
Early Jets (I may try my hand at a Gloster Meteor or DH Vampire)
Kiwi Legends (I reckon this is a superb idea with such great scope)
I'm not so keen on an F-4 GB but for those who want one go to it.
Cheers
Wally.

Noooo the F4 was only mentioned because if we extended the jets out to include Vietnam I could then build my F4. It could also inlude a number of other jets. I'm not sure how many Early jet kits are available but the number certainly increases if you push it out a few years.

There's quite a few early jets, if you include the meteor, vampire/venom, me262, go229, he162, shooting star, f-94, f-86, mig15, mig17 even maybe. I'm sure there are more that could be included if I had more time to look on wiki.
I'd say first and second gen aircraft would be ok, but if people wanted to, we could push it out to 3rd gen so it would include skyhawks, F-4's, most of the century series, mig 19/21, b52, f111 etc. Depends on what the people want.

Maybe we could do Cold War jets whihc opens the jets right up and include late WWII jets into the mix as well seeing as they are the grand daddy of most the late 40s and 50s allied jets.

The Horten 229 fighter twin engine jet did fly be it only in test flights before crashing destroying the only flying aircraft, named after the Horten brothers who also planned the Amerika bomber with the plan to launch an atomic attack against new York.
The Me 163 was a rocket fighter which saw combat but its record was poor.

I feel that we could do a separate "Cold War" GB at a later date, that would open it up for AFVs etc too

I think keeping it from 1943-1965 still gives plenty of choice B)

How about TWO Group Builds running simultaneously????

One for the Aircraft Folk
And One for Everyone Else
You flying types seem to be working well towards a Theme for yours
Here is an idea for the Everyone Else one - " Vehicles used by Government Services during the Cold War Era."
That's 1945 to 1990 which leaves things WIDE Open for what modellers might enter. And there can't be too many complaints about the availability of choice either; there is a truck load of options out there. B) Just my 10 cents worth  And I wouldn't need to build a dio for it either :silly: Well maybe  :side:

Michael is spot on. All the current group builds finished today.

Given our numbers are relatively thin here why not be a bit more broad in GB subject choice to encourage participation? Nothing on a hobby forum (short of a flame war) is more disappointing than an under subscribed GB. So maybe avoid specific GB topics (aircraft, car, armour, ship etc) My 2 cents is have a specific kit brand GB like Airfix GB or Tamiya GB etc. Maybe said make distributor or local retailer could be encouraged to put up some winning loot?

Something from WWI as it's the 100th anniversary of the end of WWI, this could be a year long build to give people lots of time.
Also a NZ subject would be good for the Nationals next year (yeah I know it's the Nationals every year but until someone from one of the other clubs that host the Nats steps up and suggests something, the Waikato one is the most important one to me).
How about Generic Sci-Fi, time to dig out all those Star Wars kits and anything new that may appear after Dec 14th, could end on May 4th (we did this a few years back).
I'm easy really, I've got some big builds I'm going to be starting after AiC that will take me a few months to build, I'll also need some fillers for when I get bored.
I also like the idea of something Old, shelf queens etc.

The shelf queens could be a good motivator I think, I know its limited but Falklands War could be interesting. Or maybe a "Military What if" I also like the generic Sci Fi idea...actually Im pretty easy...I just need to be more motivated this year! Nationals might be the Key driver ....

Also what about and Old Kit Build? I have an Old Hase Zero kit with metal cowling and and old MPC AT-AT..
