Update In Stash:
Lots of 1/35 Armor mainly WWII German and a few Modern British/American pieces, 1/32 Aircraft and 1/48 Aircraft. Aircraft chosen to replicate RNZAF and RAAF types through the years. Some RAF & USAF types exist also.

Shikes that PTO deadline approaches too fast.

For Next I'd Go with an ETO of some kind. I'm NOT buying any new kits. Or old kits :side:

But why not something based on the celebrations which are to run over the next couple of years, beginning next year? World War One (100 years ago) Huh!
If we run with this idea I guess I will be buying something . . . :S

My two pennys

Revell 1/24 '77 GMC Sierra 1500 4x4 - getting the "Mad-Maxed" treatment - moving to the "Diorama" GB

So if I got this right, so far we have the following suggestions:

Normandy
ETO
Kiwi legends
Kiwi based
WW1

And an option of making it a year long. Anyone else care to make a suggestion??

Jim :)

Well to be honest I'd like to see a WWI Build (would tie in with Cambridge again and the 100th anniversary of the start of WWI) this build could either run from Nov 1st until 28 July 2014 which was the start of WWI or until November 1st 2014
I'd also be keen to see a Kiwi themed build this should also run for a year, in between that I'd be happy to see some shorter builds as well for those of us that can't work on one project for that long.
The general consensus seems to be that people are happy with the Pay to Play approach, is that still the case? I've found that the builds actually progress when money is involved. I remember previous attempts at group builds that never got off the ground.

Sounds good. I'll see how I go with entering any other GB's atm as I have very little free time or money nowadays.
Also G1, I didn't realise where the years had gone if WWII started 100 years ago? :P

Yeah i dont mind either way, but a kiwi theme certainly makes it easier for me kit wise. Pay to play sounds like a good idea too. Don't mind on length, if it's longer I will do a couple entries.

Count me in regardless.

I'm keen for a WW1 GB. Would be cool to do something from that era as I have never done something from that era before. Otherwise Kiwi themed would be my next choice.

Ahhhh! Why does it do this "session expired" thing while I am still logged in ...!!!
Again - though somewhat abbreviated - I reckon a WW1 GB is a good idea for 2014 - centenary of the beginning of the Great War - and especially 2015 - the ANZAC centennial year.
We can have more than one GB going concurrently.
I don't reckon we can ever please everyone or suit everyone's existing stash.
I'm most likely prepared to buy a kit or kits for a GB, as I did for North Africa, which both got me out of my comfort zone and opened up whole new horizons. I'm about to do 5 x RNZAF ETO aircraft which I may not have considered before the Desert War GB.
Personally I'm still rather drawn to an Eastern Front GB, though I have no modeling aspirations with it otherwise.
A bit of Snow and Steppe .... ya know ....?
Wally.

Sorry not had chance to sit down and give it any thought, WWI will definitely be one of them and will run until November next year.
I want to do a European theatre build of some sorts,
I like the idea of a D-Day +7 build as it's going to be the 70th Anniversary in June next year.
At the moment though everything is on hold for me, I found out last night that I've got to have some plates and screws put in my neck and the worst part is they are going to be going in from the front of my neck and working their way through. I assumed they would just be opening me up at the base of my neck on the back and doing their thing that way.
I just want to get Armistice out of the way then I can relax a bit before the Operation, so if I seem a bit spaced out over the weekend it's because of all the drugs I'm on.

I like the idea of the European theater group build, but do it as D day onwards, or something from around D day, ie particular camo schemes or only weapons that were used around D day.
Hope the op goes well mate, will catch up on sunday so before the surgeons start to fillet your neck to put the plates in.

No reason why we can't run multiple builds, I just need the help of one of the Mods  to do all the posting, prodding etc. I'll check the bank accounts (assuming they are pay to play) and inform when they have been updated.
I just can't commit any time at this point due to not knowing what's going on with my op etc.
I'm finding that the pay to play builds are actually working, ok the last one was a bit of a let down by some of us  but I think now we've picked up more members along the way it should be ok as long as we get the subject(s) right

Would be a good excuse to dig out the Meteor or the 262 I've got. Maybe cap it at say 1970 so that we can include Vietnam and the F4's etc?

I like the idea of a WWI group build, maybe running for a year, and finishing in time for Armistice 2014?

I also like the idea of the "Birth of the Jet Age" that could be a good one for over summer, starting maybe December 1st, and running for 3 months?

Then we could have the D-Day+ GB starting to finish in June to tie in with the 70th Anniversary?

That's exactly what I was thinking but I like the Jets up to 1970 then it could be 3 War Jets, WWII, Korea and Vietnam (plus I could dig out an F4  )

Early jets sounds cool, but for them to be "early" i reckon it would have to include up to the Korean war (the first real jet vs jet combat) but not vietnam. By then you were into 3rd and early 4th generation jets so not really early jets (no F-4's for you, G1! )

The D-Day ones sounds good too, maybe start it January 1st so we have nearly 6 months to run and maybe have the other one running until september or something.
