What's the next group build?? was created by jimmy07
Seems how I found my model (finishing!) mojo, thought it best to take advantage of this by joining a group build. Which brings me to my question:

What are the next group builds???

If it involves aircraft I should be able to find a kit that fits ;)

I'm liking Normandy at this point in time or War in the East (Russia) but I'll let the masses decide.

Normandy. I'll save my Tasca Firefly for it. Does a one to one scale figure count?

Shees! Gotta meet that PTO CBI GB deadline yet, in my case on 3 builds ...!
I'd quite like to do a Russian 'Night Witches' (or [as I've heard them called] 'White Witches') aircraft or diorama so maybe Russia has the slight edge for me.
Make it a year long GB this time eh?
PS - And Crawlie Nuts, don't be too quick to jump for Normandy. Think about the Great Tank Battle of Kursk - the largest battle ever fought in all of human history!

My preference - WW2 RNZAF & Pacific Theatre, Allied & Axis, ETO, Mediterranean, AFV & figures

I'd say an ETO GB would work well. Perhaps do it from D-Day to VE day? (Although this would discount the possibility of doing anything from Kursk). I reckon do from the end of the BOB till VE day.... But then we might as well just do the whole ETO of WW2.... I dunno, maybe do a poll with the different time periods and see who wants what.

Russian theater of operations through to the end of WW2. Would be nice to see some Red Star equipment and troops.
My 2 cents worth.

Update In Stash:
Lots of 1/35 Armor mainly WWII German and a few Modern British/American pieces, 1/32 Aircraft and 1/48 Aircraft. Aircraft chosen to replicate RNZAF and RAAF types through the years. Some RAF & USAF types exist also.

ETO would include the eastern front I would think..... Since it is part of Europe....

ETO is a big field of battle...I think it's better being broken down into more manageable and selected fronts for the GB combatants. Like has been done, North Africa, Asian etc...then there's the Med, Northern Europe, then break it down even further...Italian campaign, Normandy, Battle of Britain, Scandinavia, Poland etc.
The scope is huge and involves so many different scenario's to be built.

Again, just my 2 cents worth

Good idea, but having a bigger scope means people are more likely to have something applicable to enter. I for one, only have 1 kit that would qualify for the eastern front, my 1/32 Hase ju87g2. But if we expand to ETO, then I have many more options. Not saying everyone is like me, but more choice is better I feel. There is also nothing stopping us from doing 2 GB's and running Western front and eastern front at the same time...

Just as another add on to the idea of running western and eastern front GB's concurrently, once the 2 main winners have been decided, we could then have a final poll between those 2 for a grand winner (taking an extra share of the prize money kept over from all the entry fee's....

I'm all for both or either. So is the idea like the pacific GB, build something that was, at some point, somewhere within the boarders of the map? I don't have a russian anything from that era, but have some trade-worthy kits ready and willing to be swapped

Something like a "Kiwi legends" theme leaving it open to military subjects, auto (mclaren, britten, possum) even sci-fi if you do Jango Fett's Slave :-) so people can build out of their comfort zones if they want to.

Hadley, you would have a couple of choices, the Focke-Achgelis Fa223 or the Flettner Fi282 . Not sure of kits but I think both are available, although only as resin or vacuform kits....

Good idea Hadley, kiwi based or kiwis abroad should give us plenty of choices and most of us should have a kiwi aircraft in the stash... I've got plenty I want to do and if it's a year long as Wally suggested, gives me heapsa time and maybe even do a couple B)

Found it after umpteen searches on the web. A nice chap in Mexico made a vacuform.

I got 4 but should only need 1 or 2. If you want one I'm sure we could work something out.

And I see now cmk do a conversion with resin and an etch IP along with resin engine, exterior and interior sets. Shame they cost so much.

Jim. :)
