We've had some great suggestions but we can't do them all so I'll put up a handful for you to vote on.
I'll let this run for a week until 19th May the poll with the most votes wins

PTO = Pacific Theater of Operations including Burma, India, Malaysia Etc
ETO = European Theater of Operations

Damn, there's 3-4 different ideas I like there, but I think PTO will give us the most scope for everyone to contribute... We should save the other ideas for the next few we do....

Yup, There are several general concepts I'd be happy to participate in amoungst those offered. Like Gaz, I've gone for "PTO 1939 to Present" which offers more variety for more folks to have a go . . .

I'd be prepared to have a go at almost any of them but PTO is way out in front for me.

Looks like G1 reset it. I'm picking based on the voting up until the reset the PTO and ETO D-day to VE Day were the two most popular ideas.

When I last looked (approx 12:45) there were 10 votes for PTO, 1 for ETO and 1 for Non Military Vehicle. The last person, at that time, to have voted was member "kiwimav". This I know as I was talking to him via Skype in SanFranciso USA at the time.

Yowsa, that's a fair way away... Sounds like you should be spending less time Skyping and more time building! :P
Maybe KiwiMav broke'd it.... Regardless, it looks like PTO is winning anyway... (and was)...

Sometimes a fella just needs to catch up wiff is mates, mate. An try to convince them to get back into modelling. It's slowly working, but after 16 years in the US of A kiwimav and his american wife are looking to come on back to paradise carrying as little with them as possible. This makes modelling a challenge, but I'm slowly convincing him to at least build a stash to bring back. :woohoo:

Now I don't know about others here but when I look at who and how many have voted, the poll says, for example, that seven have voted but only 5 are showing in the list of who has. i'm getting the same issue when checking who's online as well.

Don't worry about the who has voted, you only get one vote, what I think happened is I edited my post to correct a typo and it reset the counter at least that's what I hope it was. I'm going to keep an eye on it, sorry to those of you that voted before it reset but if you could just vote again that would be great.

Tell him to bring a stash with him as it's a darn sight cheaper over there than here... Surely he could just stuff his suitcases with kits instead of clothes??? :cheer:

PTO is effectively all of the pacific, japan, east coast of russia, all of southeast asia, both koreas and obviously aussie and nz. From 1939 (start of WW2) to the present. So any military vehicle based or operated in the PTO in those time frames qualifies. That should give you plenty of scope to sus out a chopper to build...

Lets not get too carried away or we might as well include the space above it as well :P
If anyone is intending to come to Armistice in Cambridge the sponsored competition will be WWII war in the Pacific and CBI only, this competition will be sponsored by the Armistice in Cambridge organisation. So if this is the favourite choice here and you build something that fits in to that criteria you will be eligible to enter it there as well ;)

I would say Americas would be ok but only those from the west coast ie California and Alaska. My thoughts would be squadrons based at San Diego, Mirimar, that sort of thing. Anywhere where they would normally operate over the Pacific Ocean. Obviously G1 has the final ruling but West coast squadrons do operate in the PTO.

And that was my point really, :P not forgetting Hawaii (Pearl Harbour) and all the US west coast bases where Marines, Navy, Army and Airforce units were/are stationed or embark from. And the areas that were attacked by Japanese submarines, primarily on merchant navy shipping. Just covering all the bases, so to speak.

I'm reading "The Pacific" at the mo. Really interesting stuff.

Cool really like the idea of the PTO allows for a wide scope of models and if they can be judged at Cambridge then that would a double bonus B)

A stash eh Davey Lad, maybe. No room in me bags, will have to send via post or courier (costly), probably not worth it, but will see.
