I've had a look a thinning my bottle of AK real color RC104. the one left in thin with Tam lacquer thinner look ok. The one the right is thinned with Tam X-20A I would use this as it seems to semperate after awhile.
This one is thinned with Vallejo airbrush thinner witch seem to the most Sable out of all three as you might be able to see.
I there any other thinner I could try.

Thanks Henry

Sorry guys I gave Tamiyas X -20A another try it does work I think what happened was there was some Tamiya LAC thinner with the X-20A in the eyedropper I was using and they had I reaction together in the paint.

I’m about to break into the AK ivory so I’m glad of this discussion. I’m interested in whether it needs thinning at all. Henry, have you tried spraying with it as is or does it definitely need thinning?

I would say yes it does need thinning because if you put a drop on the side of the bottle it does take some time to go down the side back into paint. I think its a bit thicker than Tamiyas paint.

Yes it 100% needs to be thinned to spray, its pretty dense stuff. I started at 50/50 with Tamiya X20-A which worked perfectly, and I could imagine using it thinner than that.

I've noticed that seem to be more pigment in the bottle than in a Tamiya bottle.

I agree, it is very high in pigment. even for brushing I found myself using thinner to keep the brush wet

Wow. Very helpful. Also means I can use it easily for touch ups. Mine came from BNA. No postage problems involved.
