Model Events Calendar was created by Gary
Right no more excuses I've just added a calendar function to the site, happy to add all your events even your club nights, if you hover over the events item on the top menu you'll see a drop down that says "Submit Your Event" click that fill in your details and I'll take if from there. Only modelling related events plz no car boot sales etc :P
If you're on the home page you'll also see a nice Calendar section so you can see what's happening this month/year etc.
We can also add and track the release of long awaited kits etc

Good idea to add the kits I see the Zveda Panther D was out in July this year. Ordering today. :)
Challenging though to get an actual date but the Tokyo model show with a link would be a good idea to post.

Registered members can submit their own posts, for kits I think it's safe to add a rough date probably nearer the end of the month assuming we/you know the month.
I don't want to swamp it with dates but having something every day wouldn't be too bad, it can be organised in to colours so for instance, model kit releases could be in yellow, NZ modelling events in green, Australian events in blue, rest of the world model shows in red etc etc.

Sounds like a good idea with the colour system. Makes it easy to see what's what. Will you have flashing lights for special events like Armistice?

People look at me funny when I say I own "Fifty shades of Grey". FS36118, FS36270, FS36375.....

G1, is there anyway for us mods to edit existing events or is it something only you can do? I thought about adding an image to the zm ho229 release entry after I had submitted it.

Yeah that would've been nice if you had, but no, there's no easy way to give access unless you're a bit tech savvy. Post a link to the pic and I'll update it.

All sorted, it only take 5 secs to alter but easier for me if it can be done when the item is added.

Looks good thanks Gary. Kind of makes me think now that I really need to build a few WWI kits to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the signing of the Armistice in 2018. Maybe we all need to concentrate on that as the main theme for the competition and display in 2018? We have four years to accumulate WWI model builds so maybe we could call it a four year group build starting from now?

What do we all think?????

Not added to the calendar as it not set in stone yet:

Pencil 10th and 11th October 2015 in your diary. Final decision on these dates and the venue of the IPMS 2015 Nationals in Dunedin is on the verge of confirmation.
Watch this space......

Add it and we can always change it if the dates change, at least it will give it some traction and awareness
