Bloody Airbrush Connectors!!!! was created by Flying_Kiwi
Man how hard is it to get a fitting for a Badger Sotar to fit an ordinary hose (Iawata type)

Why do these company's not use standard or common attachments !!! i found one place but they don't ship to NZ

Does anybody know of any local (as in- in the pacific) company that has female 1/8 to 1/4 BSP adapters for airbrushes?

I got one from Trademe and one from Mighty Ape, I even had a spare one until recently as I gave it away.

Edit: here you go, Mighty Ape have them www.trademe.co.nz/art/art-supplies-equip...ad35a62c0ee8010e-002

That looks like the right end but i can't find a quick release that fits my iawata style hose

Just for clarity... the male end of a Sotar 20/20 is 1/8 BSP is that right, and a standard Iawata type hose is 1/4 BSP?

sorry very unacknowledged about BSP - also think British Standard Pipe sounds a bit rude!

Just get the 1/4 quick release the tails are all the same size it's just the thread ends that differ.
I can find you one if you're unsure.

Mate if you can point one out for me that would help, I just can't see half the ends in photo's so can't tell whether the ends are right?

Thank you! sorry to be a pain !

One of these

Plus what I posted before should do you, then you can switch between airbrushes without having to change hoses. Just ask the question before you buy and make sure the one I first posted is for the Badger airbrush connection as it says Badger on the title then goes on about Iwata

Hi guys, so got the quick release connectors from MA and TM this has worked out well as i can do quick changes to my IAWATA AB's this is actually very cool and i'm enjoying the ability to swap between my 5mm and 3mm brushes with out loosing pressure!

In short it was an adapter for IAWATA threads, but not a waste of money i'm kind of addicted to this quick rel;ease system now

However it still doesn't sort my connecting up the Sotar 2020 issue! I now need to find a quick release adaptor for that or a thread adaptor that i can use.

If i could have all three brushes on an adapter i'd be UNSTOPPABLE Whaaaa haaaaa haaaaa oooh the POWER!!!!!

Yeah I've got two Sotars both with adaptors, I swap about 6 of my airbrushes fairly regularly depending on what I'm painting.

I linked to an ebay listing for exactly that in my post from last week...

It has an adapter for Badger Airbrush threads to Iwata Hose or Quick disconnect threads.

Yeah Phil the quick connector is good only for IAWATA type 1/8 threads which is 9.X mm the Sotar is male 4.5 mm the hose connector link you sent was very helpful and connector 1 is the one i'm after sadly they we sold out of connector 1.

I have now ordered a badger quick connector from the US....ouch...

thanks all for your help.
