Lockdown modelling was created by yak
Haven't had any time for modelling in a long time so hoping to get some in during the lockdown period. I am a little unprepared how ever and don't have any paint for any of the projects that i was working on last. But i still havent gotten over the navara yet and am in more of a building mood anyway.

So day one of lockdown i woke up with an urge to build a caravan of all things, I've never had an interest in caravans in my life but thought having a custom 70s one to put on the back of one of my 70s cars would be something a bit different and i can't say i've seen one done before. So starting at 8 this morning and finishing at 4.30ish here's where i got to today on my first lockdown build. Won't be modelling every day, building an obstacle course around the house tomorrow so we can do some urban mountain biking.

Nice one ,looks real GOOD !

Not a caravan / camping person either ,
But scratch building one, and plenty of solvents in the air to ward of COVID-19 ..... i am all for that

Cheers guys. not a lot of progress on the caravan to report. it's been good weather here so have been completing a few jobs around the outside of the house but i've run out of timber now so will be hitting the model room again in the next day or so, so will have more soon. I have spent a few hours at the night and got the jocky wheel done using part of a 1/72 P-39 nose wheel and then started a pair of nissan S14 silvias

If this does go past 4 weeks Im going to add the Real Models 1/35 scale NZ Lav 3 conversion. Extensive model with a one piece full resin hull top and four Eduard PE sheets for the exterior fittings. This after the Thunder Models Bergepanzer 38T (never again a Thunder models kit).

Ok update time. done a few hours here and there but with the fine weather i'm still spending most my time working around the house. Caravan now has the main parts of the inside done just need to add the details now. outside still needs a few details done and put the roof skin on.

Have also started a pair of Nissan S14 Silvia's and early one which i have used a set of Aoshima 19inch wheels and modified the suspension to get the ride hight and stance i wanted. the second is a straight out of the box build of the later model and is an Autech version. Autech is Nissans second factory tuning company the other being Nismo.

And while i was looking through my spare parts for bits i decided to do something with the leftover parts from this monster truck kit. I shortened the tray and chassis to make it a short bed, filled the cut out in the hood then removed the moldings the ridge on the hood and filled the door and tailgate handles. Going to try make a smoothed out hotrod/lowrider type truck.

Hi fellas. I'm stuck unfortunately. I can't do any airbrushing because I don't have a mask. I threw out my old one because I lost all confidence in it. I had two projects near completion and just did as much as I could. I can't even do some busy work on the Sherman that's on the top of my stash and I'd barely started because I don't have any extra thin cement. Would you believe that? I thought about ordering from BNA in Ozzy but I'd put an order for a kit just before the lockdown two weeks ago and it hasn't arrived so I can only assume its held up. So not much point ordering more.

So modelling just ground to a halt, which is frustrating.

I have great respect for scratch builders. I struggle with scratch building the simplest thing. I'd like to build a chain link fence for a dio which would seem simple but I have no illusions that it will be easy.

Hope you fellas are safe.

Where are you?
Maybe one there is someone close to you who has a spare bottle of extra thin that they could get to you.

once i finished the caravan and the silverado i decided i'd try finish all the partly done car kits i have, i got them all out from there hiding places and put them on the desk. THen got a new one off the shelf and made a fresh start :P
This kit was given to me by the owner of Bay hobbies when i was over there a couple months back (they also now stock bare metal foil) its missing a tyre other wise its complete. So i got this out of the stash
I got it off TM in a three pack along with the 3300 chevy i built last year. Its been started, brush painted and missing lots of parts but it did have a set of wheels and tyres i could raid for the plymouth. So heres where i got it to. Mold lines removed body and all the suspension work done

But looking through the F100 kit got my mind working, I have the Revell Foose kit of this model F100 so i was never going to make this one. Unless i made a car hauler out of it :woohoo: The plymouth has now moved to the unfinished pile and i've been working on this.
