Torpedobunker Bpt.77
The torpedoes were transported on a narrow gauge track to the Bunker that housed the E-boats.
Picture from straight after the war

Bunker for storing torpedoes for the Schnellboot (E-Boat) unit stationed at Ijmuiden.

It was very sunny today so not the best pics with my foon.

Fantastic photos Maarten, thanks for sharing, they were so imposing. I imagine it's easier to just leave them there than try to destroy them.

Probably some 1500 + German bunker are still known to exist in the Netherlands and than those who are covered up with earth who knows?

The place i was yesterday Ijmuiden over a 1000 from all sizes where built.

All the red dot represent (Widerstandsnesten) pockets of resistance /multiple bunkers of all types, the ring around it are Anti tank walls and anti tank ditches.

So imagine how many where built from the BIG U-boot and artillery bunkers to the small tobruks from the top of Norway to the border of Spain ,
And than all the other ones that were built inland all over Europe .

Jerry was busy in in early forty's......... Not to mention all the non-German bunkers from before the WW2.
