Not model related but there's some knowledgeable military buffs on here i'm hoping can help with this. A friend of mine just got this but no one knows what it is for. To me i think it would have been for dynamite maybe? looks like they didn't want moisture to get into whatever it was as it was sealed with solder. has felt in the lid and looks like it had a false floor soldered in a few inchs above the bottom. Has some thin g in yellow on the lid that looks to end "ITES" with five or six letters before them. "E 1350" on side and FSCO II 1942 stamped into the top and bottom. So any ideas? any info on where i could possibly get answers would be much appreciated.
It looks like a shell cartridge container. They normally have the cartridges in cardboard tubes inside a flanged box not unlike this and this entire box (in your photos) sleeves into an outer steel carry container with handles etc.
