I didn't see one of the end of year round-up posted. This year was a year of two halves: several big completions in the first half of the year, and then much less in the second half when work and health caught up with me.
Here's to a healthy, prosperous and productive 2019!
While the quantity of my completed 2018 work is nothing to brag about, I'm pretty chuffed to have got two over the line. There's certainly lots of really good work on display in the posts above, so well done all.
Here is what I got up to in 2018... Quite a few projects underway and a few finished.
First up the Mania / Hasegawa Ki-27 Nate in 1/48
Thus is the first of the ‘wunder kits’ featuring fine recessed detail and great fit all from a 1970’s tooling.

Next up was a modern Wunderkit.. The Tamiya Ki-61 in 1/48 It’s everything a modern Tamiya kit is supposed to be...

Next was a visit to an older kit that doesn’t get much love. Revells’s 1/48 F-86D. I think this was originally slated to be a Monogram release either way it is a fine kit and builds into a nice model.

More obscurity followed with a build of the 1/48 Accurate Minatures Yak 1.

The middle part of the year was full of 1/32 projects none of which is 100% completed..
So I stepped out if that with a build of the 1/48 Academy TA-183 Huckebein.

With the new Tamiya Spitfire Mk1 with us I thought I’d say farewell to a fine kit that started the shake n bake kit revolution with a build of the old tool Tamiya 1/48 Mk1 Spitfire..

Finally I finished off what was a fun build of a large jet in the shape of the 1/48 Revell / Monogram F-102A Case x. Proof that an oldie can be a goodie.

I only managed two for the year. The first was the Hasegawa 1/48 P-39Q, which I built for my father's 75th, but realised I don't have any photos of the finished build. Here is the last WIP I had of it. Must take some pics next time I am down in Opunake.
And the Hasegawa 1/48 Avia S-199 conversion posted elsewhere here.
Edit: Looks like last year was the year of gloss finishes for me
