If only I could build kits at the pace I buy kits!

Through a series of circumstances, I am in possession of a 1/9 scale scratch-built model of Burt Munro’s “Worlds Fastest Indian”. It’s final destination will be the Burt Munro collection in Invercargill, but until I can take it down there, it’s living at my place.
The model was scratch-built in mainly brass by Mr Misao Hiro, owner and founder of Model Factory Hiro (MFH), probably the worlds best manufacturer of multi-media automotive kits. It is his wish that the model be placed on display in Invercargill, home of Burt Munro. The model was brought from Japan by our own Fooseboy, and I picked it up from Chris to take to Invercargill. Seeing as I am going to be out of the country for the next 4 weeks, I asked permission from Mr Hiro to display the model here in Auckland. It is now in a cabinet at Modelair, corner of Dominion Road and Burnley Terrace.
I saw this model at Tania's place last weekend, and even though I had read Mr Hiro's build blog as he made it, seeing it in the metal was a whole new experience. The craftsmanship and attention to detail is exquisite. Well worth a visit to Modelair, and if you're into bikes don't miss it.
What a special model and a piece of NZ history,
Had a look through his build log and interesting to see the jigs etc he used, and lots of cast parts
Craftsmanship is top level, hope he is teaching others these skills before they are lost.
Mr Hiro your the man........
