Well I've started a new project but I'm not going to say what it is, I'm going to leave it up to you to work out, from some fairly obvious clues (at least I think they are fairly obvious).

Mary Mallon went to a country in West Africa and visited a broad sea inlet while there.

Once you've worked it out I'll post the photos, if you don't work it out you can see it at AiC 2018 ;)

Well we all know who typhoid mary is, we know a long list of west african countries, and we know what a bay is.

How that helps I am unclear. But then crosswords never were my thang.

Honestly, any more clues and I might as well spell it out, think logically. :)

logically, on a Friday evening.

I have a better chance of arguing the fact that if you unscrew your belly button ya bum will fall off :-/

That said I hate to see a riddle go unsolved.
Is anyone close?
Would I be looking for something with a British name?

A ship that carried Spanish Flu to West Africa. HMS Africa, which is a King Edward VII-class pre-dreadnought battleship... which just happens to be the same class of ship as HMS New Zealand.

HMS New Zealand?

Ok, don't take the sentence as fact, think of it as an amalgamation of 3 artifacts that make up the type and the name of the kit in question.

Nope sorry, heading in a vaguely correct direction I think.
I'll split it up in to the 3 elements before people get bored and move on.

Mary Mallon went to a country in West Africa and visited a broad sea inlet while there, any more than that makes it too simple.

USS Gambier Bay? Hasegawa 1/350?

Edit: My reasoning was
Mary Mallon = Typhoid Mary = Carrier
Country in West Africa = Gambia = Gambier
Broad Sea Inlet = Bay

Correct, that and you sold me the kit a few years back, but at least your reasoning it spot on. :P
It wasn't just me though it was fairly logical wasn't it?

I don't recall pretty much anything I sold over the years. About the only ones I recall was the "out of the back of the wagon" dodgy deal on the MaK kits.

The Typhoid Mary reference had me stumped for a while.

I have one to do too, but for obvious reasons, plan to build mine as CVE-83.

Once I figured out a carrier I thought it was Gambier Bay initially, but when it turned out Gambier Bay is in Alaska I opted for the Ark Royal. So yeah, your logic has a spelling mistake in it. :P

Your interpretation of my logic was at fault, and now come the excuses.......... :P
If I'd say a bay in Alaska that would of been too obvious.
Craig got it, so what you're saying is you're not as logical as he is? lol
