I'm also team member number 2 of Team A for this MSMC team build.
Teams of 3 members take one section of the instructions each (predetermined by club committee), complete their part and pass it to the next member. Each member has 3 m onths to complete their part, the change over to the final person who must complete all detail work, paint and decal the kit will happen this Thursday at club meeting.

I'm about to finish my efforts this week, with main rotor assembley and some minor detail parts to fit. I will then complete the masking and lay down a coat of Tamiya white primer/undercoat to complete my part.

This is the bird; Italeri's 1/48 Wessex HAS 3, a 2011 release. The worst fit issues and poor sprue gate positioning I have ever encountered in a kit but will build into a reasonable representation of this helo just prior to it going out of service with the UK.

As with Michaels post earlier in this thread, you will only get to see the finished product next. I'll be moving this along to my next team mate who will paint, decal, and weather it this thursday. Not much else to see other than the rotors assembled and a few more aerials attached. :P ;)
Although this has been an interesting challenge for me, particularly in regard to fit and finish and the very careful clean-up needed prior to assembly (many sprue gates are in the stupidest of places - on what will be visible outside edges rather than what will be internal to the kit and things like that :pinch: ) I have enjoyed building an aircraft. There have been two Hasegawa 1/72 Harriers join the stash in the last week ;) And I've been looking for some other helo kit that may take my interest. ;)

For sure Grover. I'm suspecting that the first member of my team left things to the last minute and rushed quite a bit. I've had to clean up and putty/sand/putty/sand etc., quite a few areas along with my part of the build which has been pretty intense anyway. :P  This is a competition piece so I am being a fussy bugger though :P

For those who are members of other clubs and may be thinking about trying this Team Build concept out, I would highly recommend the process. The three person team members names were drawn from a hat, so there is no loading of teams with good or better modellers in any give team make-up. Pure chance.

A couple more images for yuz .. .

The IP Decal and front cowling by me and the rest of the cockpit by my prior team member Andrew.

Once she's all painted and decalled and such we will add the side aerial wires with EZ Line.

Edit: Am quite pleased with these pictures which I have just taken with my fancy smancy new smart phone (and edited - Cut and resized in PS).

Looks like #3 has a good base to wok with there D1.

I am the #3 for my group and have realised that I'll hardly need to touch the glue, masking tape and paint on the other hand. As with stages 1 and 2 we have pretty must left each other alone so what we get is a surprise so needless to say I'm not feeling any pressure to crank out a great paint (and possibly original) job at all.

Here is another Manawatu Club competition build that is due for judging on August 20th.
It is the 2011 release of Italeri's Sd.Kfz 234/2 "PUMA" in 1/48.
I had not started this when I handed on the "Wessex" to my next team member in that build so thought I had best get a move along.
I have forgotten in my haste to take some initial photos which was primarily of the assembly of hull and chassis basics components.
There are quite a few small parts as this is nicely detailed and should build up to a reasonable representation but there are seam lines on everything!!!!!!!!!!!
I have cleaned up most of what will be visible, which is rather a lot of parts, so this has progressed a bit slowly. Paints should arrive from Mighty Ape tomorrow so I can begin the black primer and then get on with the rest of the finishing touches.
Here are some shots so far . . . .

Hey here we are back again . . .
To continue the theme and the part I played in the Team Build with Manawatu Scale Model Club with the Italeri 1/48 Westland Wessex HAS 3.

Having completed my "middle" part of the build and passing the kit along to my last team member, we decided to go with the Rescue Yellow scheme. I purchased the primer (Tamiya White rattle can) and Italeri's own Gloss Yellow and got those to Gavin, our number 3 guy. He shared of few sneak previews on FB exclusively with me and I saw that the scheme was coming along nicely. The day prior to competition close and judging I get a text saying "Help - can you finish the thing off?" and a few hours later the bird arrives at my place near completion. All I had to do was repair the multiple times broken front probe and rear tail wheel, also broken a number of times during the build by both of us and do the wire aerials down both sides and a few minor touch ups and clean ups. I did all those bits and probably a few more (OCD) that evening and presented the finished product, along with the six other teams, at Club Night the following day.

Here she is . . . .

Overall Placing? . . . .

First . . . :woohoo: ;)

Had to go back a while to find this thread
What's everyone building these days?
Those building something not in a group build often get missed
Currently building 2x Dragon 1/35 MD530G's I'm building as MD530FF's.
One for me and one for a mate who's helicopter I'm building :-)

Looking good Hadley, saw this on FB the other day :)

Uh, myself, well I am supposed to be doing my Lotus, but I finished my Spitfire, and then haven't done any since. Unfortunately my Grandmother passed away the other day, and just haven't been able to be motivated to get back into it - also next week I am going on a Holiday with the Mrs, no kids, so it could be another couple of weeks before I get back to glue sniffing.

Along with the Super Sabre, you'll find a new(ish) Airfix 1:48 Spit Vb...

Real life permitting, the Super Sabre will be finished tomorrow, as I write this the Spit is in undercoat, ready for the main colours.

Current in-progress (all got build threads here):

SMS Dresden, painting and finishing, looking forward to ocean base for this one.
Fieseler Storch, just got some figures and tying scenery together to go on this.
Stuart Honey, base and figures in progress. Got a bit put off by know-it-all comments from some usual suspects. Takes almost nothing to temporarily take the enthusiasm off a build I'm afraid.

and a Hungarian Cv35 tankette, just a side build really.

I'm converting a 1/48th Monogram AC-47 to a Rhodesian Air Force 'Warthog' which was modified to undertake the electronic monitoring role. Photographed with its sister Paradak.

Modifications include extended exhausts to defeat Strela heat seeking missiles and a number of radar and radio antennae.
