Reality In Scale 35049 – War Maps WWII Era
Reality in Scale is a niche manufacturer who makes a wide range of diorama accessories including a number of printed items of which this is one. This is a sheet of printed maps covering many of the best known battle locations in Europe and North Africa in World War Two.
This is printed on extra thin paper ( about the thickness of a thermal till reciept ) in full colour and contains twenty two maps in a varietly of sizes scaled for use with 1/35 and 1/32 scale kits. The print quality is ecceptional and do look just as I would expect them to look.
The maps you get with this are are roughly half based around the D-Day landings with the other half being maps of cities and areas throughout Western and Eastern Europe as well as El Alamein in North Africa.
The Normandy maps cover Sword, Gold, and Omaha beaches, St. Lo, Ouistreham, Bayeux, St. Aubin sur Mer, and Normandy in July 1944 as well as three general “Normandy D-Day” maps. There is also a generic map entitled “France”
The remainder cover Ardennes, Falaise, Baltics, Mid Poland, Moscow, Germany 1944, Northern Germany, Arnhem-Nijmegen during operation Market-Garden, Stalingrad, and a generic “Russian Map”.
I’ve printed my own maps out in the past and without a high end printer and the right thin paper I always found them a lot harder to do than I had expected so ones like this are great to have around. Although they have designated areas I’m sure many of them could be used for any location really. These are very well printed and look good when used so very much recommended.
