Book Review – Oliver Publishing : Under The Gun 2 – First Blood, U.S. First Armoured Division In Tunisia

I have to admit that to date I have made so few WWII U.S. kits that you could most likely count them on one hand and not need the thumb, and for that reason I’m not particularly well versed in who did what, where, and when whilst waving the Stars and Bars. It is however that very fact that makes me appreciate just how good this book is.

Usually I would ask someone who had a keen interest in a particular area to do the review of something with which I was unfamiliar, but I sat down to read this book one night and realised just why sometimes the review should be done by someone totally in the dark to start with. Because when I put this down I felt like I knew so much more than I did when I picked it up. I also now really want to build an M3 Gun Motor Carriage.

Book Review – Panzers In The Bocage : Oliver Publishing Group ( Under The Gun Series Number 1 )

 

The Oliver Publishing Group is a book publisher based in Australia who provide a high quality range of reference books on armour. They began trading as The Oliver Publishing Group in May of 2009 when they broke with The Factory Publishing ( themselves a publisher of armour related books ). Panzers in the Bocage : German Armour in the Battles For Normandy was their first independent title and the first in the “Under The Gun” series which uses photos of disabled or captured vehicles together with photo plates showing various camouflage and marking options.

Book Review – To The Last Bullet ; Part 1 – The East : Oliver Publishing Group ( In Colour Series No.1 )

The Oliver Publishing Group is a book publisher based in Australia who provide a high quality range of reference books on armour. They began trading as The Oliver Publishing Group in May of 2009 when they broke with The Factory Publishing ( themselves a publisher of armour related books ). To The Last Bullet ; Germany’s War On 3 Fronts, Part 1 – The East is the first in the “In Colour” series ( and presumably the first in a trilogy covering each of the three fronts ) which  feature mostly colour illustrations complemented by a few black and white period photos and a small amount of text.
